Boston Bruins won by 4-0 from Stanley Cup Final

Tim Thomas held the Canucks to eight goals in seven finals games

Boston Bruins won Stanley cup by 4-0. Thomas made 37 saves in the second shutout of his landmark finals performance, Patrice Bergeron and rookie Brad Marchand scored two goals apiece, and the Bruins beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 Wednesday night for their first championship since 1972.He thinks that "I went even further than I thought,” Thomas said. “I never envisioned three Game 7s in one playoff series and still being able to come out on top.”
Bergeron scored the eventual game-winner in the first period and added a short-handed score in the second to keep the Cup away from the Canucks, who have never won it in nearly 41 years of existence. Star goalie Roberto Luongo(notes) again failed to match Thomas’ brilliance, giving up 18 goals in the last five games of the finals. It was record for them.
Boston Bruins leaped over the boards and headed straight for Thomas at the final buzzer, mobbing the goalie who carried them through long stretches of this postseason. The Bruins are the first team in NHL history to win a Game 7 three times in the same postseason, with Thomas posting shutouts in the decisive game of the Eastern Conference finals and the Stanley Cup finals.

HIV protects against virus spread ..

HIV patients early why not they're too sick, dramatically lowers their chances of spreading the AIDS virus to a sexual partner.
The nine-country study confirms what scientists have long believed. HIV medicines don't just benefit patients' own health but act as prevention by making those people less infectious.Treatment patients were 96 percent less likely to spread HIV to their uninfected partner.
The findings promise to play a role in an important that Antiviral drugs are life-saving, but also expensive and side effect-prone.So how early should patients start taking them? In the U.S.That's a case-by-case decision for patients whose immune systems so far are moderately damaged by HIV in developing countries. Patients tend to be sicker before treatment starts.
The study may change those guidelines by adding the promise of partner protection. The study randomly divided the couples. Among half, the HIV-infected partner immediately started medication. Among the other half, the infected partner delayed medication until their level of CD4 cells, a key measure of immune health, dropped below 250 or they caught other AIDS-related illnesses.

Fauci said that the uninfected partner became infected with a strain of HIV that scientists could prove came from the originally infected partner in 28 couples. Only one of those infections was among the early-treated for us.We have to solve this affect anyway.

cancer risk may increase Chemicals in indoor swimming pools

Swimming in indoor chlorinated pools may induce genotoxicity (DNA damage that may lead to cancer) as well as respiratory effects, but the positive health effects of swimming can be maintained by reducing pool levels of the chemicals behind these potential health risks, according to a new study published in a set of three articles online September 12 ahead of print in the peer-reviewed journal Environmental Health Perspectives (EHP).This study is the first to provide a comprehensive characterization of disinfection by-products (DBPs) in an indoor pool environment and the first to study the genotoxicity of exposure to these chemicals among swimmers in an indoor chlorinated pool Evidence of genotoxic effects were seen in 49 healthy adults after they swam for . 40 minutes in the chlorinated pool. Specifically, researchers found increases in two genotoxicity biomarkers relative to the concentration of the most common types of DBPs in exhaled breath, which were used as a measure of the swimmers’ exposures.
In addition, the authors identified more than 100 DBPs in the pool waters, some never reported previously in swimming pool water and/or chlorinated drinking water. In vitro assays showed that the swimming pool water was mutagenic at levels similar to that of drinking water but was more cytotoxic (can kill cells at a lower concentration) than drinking water.
